Press Release

The 2010 Northeast Louisiana Telethon for
Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana
will air on
KTVE-TV NBC 10 Saturday, March 20th and Sunday, March 21st

Telecast live from the Monroe Civic Center Cerebral palsy is the most prevalent
lifelong disability in the United States today. It can impair the ability to walk,
talk, see, hear, to move, communicate and to learn – and for the individual with
one or more of these impairments, it means a life filled with barriers to leading or
securing a “normal” existence. People with cerebral palsy can be helped and
Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana is the voluntary agency that helps them…. with
the purchase of wheelchairs, walkers, braces, communication devices, prescription shoes,
assistance with therapy, evaluations and much more. The poster representative this year
is three (4) year old,
Kayla Wallingsford,

daughter of
Crystal and Cliff Wallingsford,
of Eros, Louisiana. She attends pre-K at Lenwil Elementary in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Some of her interests are listening to music, and riding in the car.

Honorary chairman for the telethon, State Senator Mike Walsworth, is a lifelong resident
of West Monroe. Mr. Walsworth is an active member of a number of organizations;
University of Louisiana at Monroe Alumni; and is a member of the Jackson Street Church
of Christ, where he serves as song leader and Sunday School Teacher. Your generous telethon
pledge in 2009 helped us greatly to continue our work in servicing the needs of people with
cerebral palsy.

Won’t you help us again this year with a generous donation to Cerebral Palsy of
Louisiana. If you normally give your donation to a VIP on the telethon, please continue
to do so. If not, please use the enclosed envelope to return your check payable to PALSY
or you can make an online donation with your credit card at www.cpofla.com during a live
feed on the internet. All donations received will be read on the air during the telethon.
